The Penza Judo Development Foundation “Yama Arashi” is 15 years old
A serious date is being celebrated in the field of Penza sports. The Yama Arashi Judo Development Foundation celebrated its 15th anniversary since its creation.
From the very beginning of its activities, the non-profit organization set itself the tasks of promoting the development and popularization of judo, as a “presidential” sport, in the Penza region. The main focus has always been on supporting talented athletes and creating favorable conditions for the progress of young judokas.
The club has gathered under its wing several thousand students who have traveled the path to harmonious development. Intellectual, moral and physical achievements occurred in this process. The Sursky land is proud of such medalists of world and European judo-kata championships as Vladislav Burmentev and Daniil Sidorov, national champion Nikita Gorbatov and Russian championship medalist Denis Kulagin. World championship medalist Ilya Simonov began his career in Penza.
“Judo strengthens the body and educates the spirit. And although not all of the Yama Arashi students connected their lives with sports, martial arts classes helped them succeed. Physical, psychological and spiritual development has become the key to success in life,” said the master of sports of Russia, international judge in judo-kata, 4th dan holder Eduard Kopylov, who became one of the initiators of the creation of the club, admonishing the athletes.
