The Pentagon leadership spoke out against the transfer of long-range missiles to Ukraine. This was reported by the NBC channel, citing its own sources. According to him, the White House has postponed consideration of Kyiv’s request on this matter due to fears of a response from Russia.

Representatives of the US high command believe that Ukraine is capable of hitting Russia with ATACMS ballistic missiles, which could lead to a further escalation of the situation.

The day before, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, in an interview with the American PBS television channel, spoke about negotiations with the United States on the supply of long-range missiles. He confirmed that Kyiv is counting on this type of ammunition, and said that he does not rule out a positive decision by Washington on this matter.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that agreeing to supply long-range missiles to Ukraine would turn the United States into a direct participant in the conflict. In this case, Russia will reserve the right to defend the territory by all available means.
