The number of victims of the shelling of the Shebekinsky district increased to eight

As a result of massive shelling by the Armed Forces of the Shebekinsky district of the Belgorod region, eight people were injured. This was announced by the Governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

“In the Shebekinsky District, there is ongoing shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Eight people were wounded. There are no dead,” wrote he is in his Telegram channel.

Gladkov stressed that the penetration of the enemy into the territory of the region “has not happened and is not.” The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, border guards, the FSB and the National Guard are on site, he specified.

The governor explained that while the shelling is going on, the authorities cannot continue the evacuation of civilians. He stated that the life of the population of the region is under threat. In case of need for urgent evacuation, the authorities are ready to fit protected equipment to the houses, Gladkov added. He stressed that the authorities do not publish information about the gathering place, so as not to endanger people’s lives.

Earlier today Gladkov informed about five injured as a result of the shelling of Shebekin. According to him, during the night the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the city three times. Residential houses and apartments, as well as administrative buildings were damaged.

Over the past week, shelling of the territory of the Belgorod region by the Armed Forces of Ukraine has become more frequent. In this regard, Gladkov announced on the evacuation of children from the Shebekinsky and Grayvoronsky districts. On May 31, the first 300 children left for Voronezh. Today, June 1, another 200 people will be transported to Penza, June 3, 600 people will be sent to Kaluga and Yaroslavl, the governor specified.

In the Belgorod region, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist danger is indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the average level of response has been set in the region. The same regime operates in seven other subjects of the Russian Federation – Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Kursk, Voronezh, Bryansk and Rostov regions.
