The number of subscribers of the paid subscription Telegram Premium exceeded 1 million, informed messenger founder Pavel Durov.

Despite the fact that Telegram Premium still makes up only a small part of Telegram’s total revenue, the service is “growing steadily every day,” Durov said. At the same time, the founder of the messenger noted that Telegram takes into account confidentiality when placing ads. According to him, the company does not use personal data for targeting and ads are only published in public channels. Durov stressed that advertising in the messenger “brought Telegram on a sustainable path to financial stability.”

Telegram introduced paid subscription on June 19. On the launch day, its cost was 449 rubles, but two days later it was reduced to 299 rubles.
