The Moscow Health Department invited citizens to the action "10,000 steps to life"

October 2, World Walking Day, Moscow will host the All-Russian action "10,000 steps to life." Anyone can join it.

10 thousand steps to life

The action "10,000 steps to life" is carried out by the "League of the Health of the Nation", the All-Russian Congress of Municipalities and the National Association of Territorial Public Self-Government (OATOS) with the support of the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Health of Russia.

Every year, the Moscow Department of Health also joins the action. As reported on the website of the department, this year the participants of the action will be able to walk along the information and educational route "Landmark on Health", which passes through the territory of VDNKh.

As part of the action, its participants will be able not only to follow the route, but also to talk with a doctor, learn interesting facts about breathing, walking, mental health and much more, which helps to keep themselves in good physical shape. Here are just a few facts that are published on the Department of Health website:

- walking sideways burns more calories than walking forward - this is due to the effort required to make the body work in unfamiliar ways;

- walking improves mood and is good for mental health;

Walking improves the quality of sleep.

How to take part in the 10,000 Steps to Life campaign can be found at website National Health League.
