The Moscow City Court received a new criminal case against Alexei Navalny (included in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring), should from the card index of Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.

The materials indicate that a case was initiated against Navalny under six articles – on the organization of an extremist community (part 3 of article 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), on the rehabilitation of Nazism (part 3 of article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), on the creation of an NPO that encroaches on a person and the rights of citizens (part 2 of article 239 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), on the financing of extremism (part 2 of article 282.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), on incitement to extremism (part 1, part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and on the involvement of minors committing dangerous acts (subclauses “a”, “b”, “c”, part 2 of article 151.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The second defendant in this case is Daniel Kholodny, against whom a criminal case has been initiated on the fact of organizing an extremist community (part 3 of article 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and on financing extremism (part 2 of article 282.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Kholodny used to be the technical director of Navalny’s YouTube channel.

Navalny has been in the colony since February 2021, when the court, at the request of the Federal Penitentiary Service, replaced his suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case of 2014 with a real one – for 2 years and 8 months in a general regime colony. However, in March 2022, the Lefortovo Court of Moscow, at an off-site meeting in IK-2 of the city of Pokrov, Vladimir Region, sentenced the politician to 9 years of strict regime and a fine of 1.2 million rubles, as well as one and a half years of restriction of freedom in the case of fraud and insult court.

On December 30, 2014, Navalny was sentenced to 3.5 years of suspended imprisonment with an obligation to pay a fine of 500,000 rubles. for committing fraudulent actions against Yves Rocher and legalizing money obtained by criminal means. The court found that in 2008 Navalny and his brother Oleg convinced the company to conclude an unprofitable contract for the provision of transport services, which caused damage of 26 million rubles. Oleg Navalny was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison and left the colony in the Oryol region in the summer of 2018.
