The Ministry of Transport invited airlines to consider the possibility of selling tickets online to participants in hostilities in Ukraine, reports “Kommersant”referring to a copy of the ministry’s letter.

Currently, wheelchair users and the wounded are forced to issue military travel documents at airport or airline ticket offices in person. State Duma deputy Andrei Kuznetsov forwarded their complaints to the Ministry of Transport, taking advantage of his status.

Participants in the air transportation market remind that the necessary technological solution may require funds, time and integration with the Gosuslugi portal. But there are doubts of another kind: it is not difficult to introduce a new ticket option, but difficulties may arise with the procedures provided for in such cases by the Ministry of Defense.

Firstly, the regulations of the Ministry of Defense require the presence of a serviceman when issuing such tickets. Secondly, the costs of carriers are compensated from the budget based on the invoices issued by them, but the Ministry of Defense limits the amount of funds for this purpose, and it will not be easy to confirm the compliance of sales on the Internet with the established limits.
