The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to include alcohol in the list of goods for parallel imports

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has developed a draft order, according to which alcoholic beverages will be included in the list of goods for parallel imports. Project placed on regulation.gov. The list may include Moet champagne, Absolut vodka, Henessy cognac and other alcoholic beverages.

It is also proposed to import such brands of alcoholic beverages to Russia as parallel imports, such as Aperol, Bacardi, Baileys, Ballantine's, Capitan Morgan, Chivas, Finlandia, Gordon's, Gray Goose, Hennessy, Jack Daniel's, Jagermeister, Jameson, Jim Beam Jonnie Walker, Olmeca, White Horse, William Lawson's and others.

Foreign alcohol brands left the Russian market after the start of the military operation in Ukraine. On the eve of the Ministry of Finance rejected the proposal of the Association of Retail Companies to include alcohol in parallel imports. The agency believes that this will increase the risks of importing counterfeit goods.
