The Ministry of Industry and Trade, against the background of the introduction of restrictions on the import of contact lenses into Russia, stated that Russian enterprises have free capacities to establish the production of these products.
“According to operational information, a number of other countries do not plan to stop deliveries,” the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade added (quote according to TASS).
Earlier, the American company Johnson & Johnson informed its partners that it would suspend the import of contact lenses to Russia. At the same time, the general director of the distribution company “Protek» Dmitry Pogrebinsky declaredthat there are enough analogues of such imported products on the Russian market.
Boris Popov, CEO of Zdravcity, said in an interview with TASS that the marketplace has been recording a reduction in the balance of contact lenses from the American company since February this year. At the same time, Popov also noted that there are enough analogues of such products on the site.
On May 24, after the information appeared about the occurrence of a shortage of lenses, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced on the possible inclusion of optics brand products in parallel imports.
