The Ministry of Foreign Affairs included 87 more Canadian citizens in the “stop list”

The Russian Foreign Ministry again expanded the list of representatives of Canada who are prohibited from entering the territory of the Russian Federation, including 87 more people, reported on the website of the Foreign Ministry.

“In response to the periodically imposed anti-Russian sanctions by the Justin Trudeau ruling regime in Canada, which have affected government officials at all levels, journalists, cultural figures and ordinary Russians to date, entry into the Russian Federation is closed for 87 Canadian citizens,” the message says.

The list includes the heads of provinces and territories, in particular, Prime Minister of Quebec Francois Legault and Prime Minister of Nova Scotia Timothy Houston, the military, heads of companies supplying Ukraine with weapons and dual-use technologies, as well as “activists of pro-Banderist structures.”

Earlier August 31 MFA turned on the “stop list” includes 55 more people, mostly Canadian military.

After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, Canada joined the sanctions of Western countries against Russia. The West imposed restrictions on Russian companies, businessmen and officials, banned the export of certain types of goods to and from Russia, closed its airspace and ports to Russian transport, and froze the reserves of the Central Bank. On May 31, Canadian authorities imposed personal sanctions against 4 legal entities and 22 Russian citizens, including the head of the board of directors of the National Media Group, Alina Kabaeva.

Subsequently, Canada also imposed sanctions on the oil and gas, chemical and manufacturing industries of Russia, and in early August added 43 individuals and 17 legal entities from the Russian Federation to the sanctions list. On August 23, the government of Canada updated the sanctions list, adding 62 more Russian individuals and one defense company to them.

Russia, in turn, has repeatedly expanded its blacklist in response to Canadian sanctions, adding, in particular, the chairman of the Liberal Party of Canada, Susan Cowan, the former head of the Bank of Canada, Mark Carney, and four senior political advisers in the office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the country and etc.
