The Ministry of Finance submitted to the State Duma a draft amendment to the Tax Code, among which there is a proposal to increase the mineral extraction tax for Gazprom. According to the amendments, it is planned to collect 50 billion rubles from the company as part of the severance tax. monthly from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025. Against the backdrop of this news, the price of Gazprom shares on the Moscow Exchange fell by almost 4%.

Additional revenues from the MET for natural gas will be:
