The Ministry of Finance proposed to raise the minimum price for vodka and cognac


The Ministry of Finance proposed to raise the minimum prices for alcohol with a strength of more than 28% in Russia from January 1, 2023. Corresponding draft order published on the federal portal of draft legal acts.

According to the document, the minimum retail price will increase:

  • for vodka - by 7.7%, up to 281 rubles. for a bottle of 0.5 liters (now 261 rubles),
  • for brandy - by 7.8%, up to 375 rubles. (from 348 rubles),
  • for cognac - by 7.7%, up to 517 rubles. (from 480 rubles).

Since 2023, the minimum selling price for vodka with a volume of 0.5 liters from manufacturers is offered at the level of 229 rubles. (now 214 rubles), wholesale - at the level of 238 rubles. (222 rubles).

The minimum selling price for 0.5 liters of brandy is proposed to be increased to 289 rubles. (from 270 rubles), wholesale - up to 304 rubles. (from 284 rubles). Selling price of cognac will rise to 397 rubles. (from 371 rubles), wholesale - up to 419 rubles. (from 391 rubles).

From the beginning of 2022 in Russia was sold 72.35 million gave alcoholic beverages with a strength of more than nine degrees, which is 8.4% more than a year earlier. In 2021, 66.75 million decalitres of alcoholic beverages were sold.

According to EGAIS, the total production of vodka in Russia from January to August increased by 9.17%, to 49.97 million decaliters, retail sales - by 7.11%, to 49.39 million decaliters.
