As of February 2, 2023, revenues to the federal budget amounted to 414 billion rubles, according to January 2022, they amounted to 2 trillion 089.15 billion rubles, leads Interfax data of the unified portal of the budget system. The Ministry of Finance explained this difference by paying taxes as part of a single tax payment (UTP), as well as by refunding value added tax (VAT).

Reporting on budget execution in January 2023, the Ministry of Finance remindedthat from April 2022, the accelerated procedure for VAT refunds is in effect. Also, budget revenues were formed for the first time in terms of the payment of the EPP. Thus, the ministry considered it incorrect to compare the data for February 1 with the data for 2022.

“The VAT calculated on the declarations by the deadlines for payment of the first quarter of 2023 exceeds the figures for the previous year by 23% (1,955 billion rubles to 1,587 billion rubles of the same period last year),”— informs ministry in its Telegram channel. The operational data of 2023 on income is not comparable with the data of the previous year, the data for correct analysis will appear on February 6–7, the Ministry of Finance notes.
