The Ministry of Education has recommended limiting the number of foreign children in classes

Russian schools and preschools have been asked to limit the number of foreign children with low levels of Russian language proficiency in classes and groups. This is stated in the methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Education sent to the regions.

There is a significant shortage of personnel in the education sector, and educational institutions are trying to train specialists on their own. The recommendations note: "With insufficient knowledge of the Russian language, especially for children with pronounced special educational needs, learning becomes difficult. Therefore, it is desirable that there be no more than three children with a low level of language proficiency in a class (group)."

This information has been confirmed "Izvestia" First Deputy Chairperson of the State Duma Committee on Education Yana Lantratova (A Just Russia – For Truth) and several educational institutions.

Earlier, deputies led by Sergei Mironov asked the ministry to set limits on the number of such children - up to 10% of the total number in the class. In response, the department agreed with the parliamentarians' proposals.
