Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the Ministry of Education and Science has returned the name of Patrice Lumumba to the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.

“A couple of hours ago, the order of the Minister of Science and Education was signed,” the prime minister specified, calling this decision fair.

Patrice Lumumba – the first Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is considered one of the leaders of the national liberation movement of the peoples of Africa. The name of the Congolese politician was given to the Moscow University of Peoples’ Friendship in 1961, it disappeared from the name of the university in 1992, when it was renamed RUDN University.
