The decline in gross domestic product (GDP) in Russia in August amounted to 4.1% compared to 4.3% in July in annual terms, according to review Ministry of Economy “On the current situation in the Russian economy. August-September 2022. In January-August, the decline in GDP amounted to 1.5%.

“In August, economic activity was supported by continued growth in the mining industry and construction, as well as improved dynamics in agriculture,” the ministry commented on the situation.

In June of this year, the decline was 5%, in May – 4.5%, in April – 2.7% year-on-year. Prior to this, GDP growth was observed. In March – by 1.4%, in February – 4.2%, in January – 5.8% in annual terms.

Today, September 28, Rosstat reported about weekly inflation after two months of deflation.
