To modernize the portal, a working group will be created, to which experts in working with open data will be invited, the Ministry of Economic Development added. The portal is currently unavailable, but the message indicates that if the user needs to find materials, they can be obtained from list other public resources integrated with the service.

Earlier about the temporary closure of the service wrote Kommersant, citing Vladimir Voloshin, director of the department for the development of the digital economy of the department. According to him, the portal will be “rebuilt” and the goal is to “understand what requests from the market for its device, what functions are needed, what it lacks.”

The Open Data Portal was launched in 2014 on behalf of the then Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Open Data contains government information in a machine-readable format and is free of copyright. These data can be registries, government databases, statistical information, etc. At that time, the portal was conceived as a key element of the Open Government system.
