A service has appeared on the State Services portal that will inform car owners if a manufacturing defect is found in the car that requires it to be recalled for inspection and repair. This was reported in the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.

Vehicles are recalled if the manufacturer finds defects in the vehicles already on sale that create a danger during operation. Checking and correcting such defects are free of charge.

Previously, you had to look for information on whether your car was subject to a recall on your own. Now the service that the Ministry of Digital Transformation launched together with Rosstandart will help with this. With its help, a recall message will be automatically sent to the personal account of the car owner at the State Services.

The ability to receive such a notification was received by users with a verified account on the State Services. In addition, in the personal account, data on the cars owned, which have been checked by the traffic police, must be entered.

To add information about your car go in the “Transport” subsection of the “Documents” section and click the “Request” button. The request will automatically be sent to the traffic police. If cars are found upon request, information about them will appear in your personal account,” the ministry said in a statement.

The department also clarified that the recall message that will be sent to the State Services will contain information about the reasons for the recall and where to go for free repairs or advice.

According to the Ministry of Digital Development, more than 6 million vehicles have been recalled in Russia since 2015, with identified design flaws.
