The Russian military stopped the attempt of Ukrainian saboteurs to land on the left bank of the Dnieper. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“In the Kherson direction in the area of ​​​​the settlement of Dnepryan, Kherson region, artillery fire prevented an enemy attempt to cross over to land sabotage and reconnaissance groups on the left bank of the Dnieper,” — says in another departmental report.

In this direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost up to 30 servicemen, the Ministry of Defense specified. Also, the Russian military continued their offensive in the Donetsk direction, the enemy’s losses amounted to 60 soldiers killed and wounded. In addition, the Russian army destroyed two ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Razliv and Konstantinovka in the DPR.

More than 20 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the Krasnolimansky direction, and more than 60 in the Zaporozhye direction. In the Kupyansky direction, the Russian Armed Forces inflicted fire damage on the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Masyutovka, Kupyansk and Gryanikovka of the Kharkov region, as well as Novoselovsky (LPR). The actions of seven enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups were also suppressed there. As a result, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost more than 90 people per day in this direction, the Ministry of Defense specified.

In addition, the Russian army shot down a Ukrainian Su-27 aircraft in the DPR and a Mi-8 helicopter in the Zaporozhye region, the department reported.

The day before, on January 24, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also reported about the ongoing offensive of the RF Armed Forces in the Donetsk direction. Earlier today, Acting Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin told about the battles in the quarters of Artemovsk, which until recently were under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
