The head of Chuvashia, Oleg Nikolaev, today, November 24, in the morning signed decree on the dismissal of Christina Mainina from the post of Minister of Digital Development of Chuvashia. Official removed from office at will.
“In making this decision, Kristina Andreevna was guided by the goals of preserving the reputation of the Chuvash government team and, most importantly, by the desire to pay more attention to her son and family,” Oleg Nikolaev explained in his official Telegram channel.
The day before, Kristina Mainina was involved in a story with the publication of her son, a student of the 10th grade of the Cheboksary gymnasium No. 5, Robert Mainin, of a post on Telegram. This publication was the reason for the police check. How informed a number of Chuvash Telegram channels, a teenager posted a post online on the evening of November 20, in which he promised to “do something soon.” At the same time, he slightly smeared his face with blood and said that he was eating the head of a frog.
A classmate of a teenager saw this message and decided that Robert might be planning an attack on the gymnasium. The girl told her mother about her suspicions, and she contacted the law enforcement agencies the next day. As a result, the police raided the minister’s apartment with a search. The Ministry of Internal Affairs for Chuvashia declined to comment officially.
Kristina Mainina, even before her dismissal, gave in her official Telegram channel clarification about the incident with the son. She confirmed the publication of the post, but at the same time emphasized that “reports that he planned to commit a crime are not true.” Ms. Mainina explained that her son published the post “without malicious intent.”
Sources in law enforcement agencies of Chuvashia, familiar with the situation, told Kommersant that after the publication of the post by Robert Mainin, operatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Chuvashia, in accordance with their official duties, searched the apartment of Mrs. Mainina and her son. As a result, no weapons and signs of any preparations on the part of Robert Mainin for any criminal actions were found as a result of the search.
“In the apartment of the Mainin spouses and their son, only a mug with Nazi symbols (a cross) was found, which the owners kept at home as a rarity. Robert Mainin himself was interviewed. He is basically a well-read and quick-witted teenager. From all the events, it was concluded that Robert Mainin simply unsuccessfully hyped with his posts. Through his unusual posts, he wanted to attract the attention of more peers and Internet users. Formally, the check has not yet been completed, but at the moment there is no crime in the actions of Robert Mainin, ”the interlocutors of Kommersant said.
