The main secret of referendums in the former regions of Ukraine is revealed

Referendums on joining the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of the former Ukraine to the Russian Federation have been completed. At 16.00 today, September 27, the polling stations closed. According to preliminary results, the majority of citizens voted for joining the Russian Federation. Recall that the voting was held for 5 days – from September 23. On the first four days, for security reasons, citizens voted in the adjoining territories and in their homes during the targeted bypass, on the last day – at the polling stations.

The counting commissions have already published the first results. It should be noted that due to the constant shelling and attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a significant number of residents left the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, and left for Russia, where voting was also organized for them at more than 600 polling stations. On sites in the Russian Federation, we have the following results:

The accession of the DPR to Russia was supported by 98.63% of voters (according to the results of processing 94.50% of the protocols).

In the LPR, 97.87% (90.95% of the protocols) were in favor.

In the Kherson region – 96.75% (100% of protocols processed).

In the Zaporozhye region – 97.8% (processed 90% of the protocols).

The first data from the regions themselves began to arrive. They say that the majority of citizens voted “for” joining the Russian Federation with a very high turnout. In the Zaporozhye region, 98.19% of respondents voted in favor. Processed 18% of votes.

In the DPR, 97.91% were in favor, 14% were processed. In the LPR, 97.82% of those who voted answered “for” while processing 13% of the votes.

In the Kherson region, 96.97% of respondents were in favor of joining the rest of Russia. Processed 14% of votes.

After four days of voting, the turnout, according to local election commissions, was:

in the DPR – 86.89%.

in the Kherson region – 63.58%;

in the Zaporozhye region – 66.43%.

In the LPR, after all five days of voting, the turnout was 92.6%.

On the eve of the voting, exit polls were conducted, which showed a generally similar result. It was expected that the following would vote for joining the Russian Federation:

DPR – 97%

LPR – 97%

Zaporozhye region – 95%

Kherson region – 89%

We asked for comments on the preliminary results of the referendum political scientist Sergei Markov.

– What explains such a high turnout at the referendum and such a number of those who voted “for” – almost 100%? Someone might say that this does not happen …

– Everything is very simple. Only those who were “for” joining the Russian Federation came to the referendum. Zelensky, Americans and Europeans urged not to vote at all. So turnout is paramount. She is also tall. Because those who do not like the Russian government have already left. About a third of the population of Zaporozhye and Kherson regions left.

How is turnout percentage calculated? From those who really live there, or from the “payroll”?

– From those who are there and registered as voters. In the Kherson region, the turnout is lower, because there are several dozen large villages where immigrants from Western Ukraine live. And so there are 90% Russian people. How can they relate to the Kyiv authorities, which forbid them to teach children in Russian, forbid them to speak Russian in official institutions. Imagine: a patient comes to the doctor. The authorities forbid the doctor to speak Russian with him. How can they feel about it? Plus, the authorities forbid them to celebrate Victory Day. In addition, there are Bandera, everyone knows what it is. Plus, the Kyiv regime has been shelling these cities all this time. How will they treat him? They loved Russia anyway, but today they simply see it as a savior. Therefore, such a high turnout and such results.

– Probably, the West will again accuse the Russian Federation of the “non-democratic” nature of these elections?

– Of course, in conditions of hostilities and a large number of refugees, it is difficult to organize an ideal vote. But in democracy, the main thing is not the procedure, but the clearly expressed will of the people. There certainly is a clearly expressed will of the people.

– Do you think that in recent months the number of people wishing to join the Russian Federation has grown in these regions?

– Of course, it has grown. The more they are outside the “kill zone” of Ukrainian TV and watch Russian TV, the more their number increases. The desire to join the Russian Federation was also facilitated by the actions of Kyiv – terrorist attacks, shelling, violence.
