The last Commander-in-Chief of the Soviet Navy, Admiral Vladimir Chernavin, died
In Moscow, at the age of 94, the last Commander-in-Chief of the USSR Navy, Deputy Minister of Defense of the USSR (1985-1992), Admiral of the Fleet Vladimir Nikolayevich Chernavin, died. This was reported to "MK" in the Club of military leaders. After his resignation in 1993, he was the chief specialist of the Navy (1995-2020), general inspector of the Service of General Inspectors of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (2008-2021), leading analyst of the Office of General Inspectors of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
