Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with the leaders of the Duma factions in February, said presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, saying that on January 24, this issue was discussed at a meeting between Putin and State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.

A Kremlin spokesman said that on January 24, “late-late in the evening,” the head of state met with Volodin. According to him, during the meeting, the work plans and priority tasks of the State Duma for 2023 were discussed. “In addition, the upcoming regular session of the president’s meetings with the leaders of the factions, which will take place next month,” Peskov said.

Earlier this month, Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov informed on the preparation of a meeting of the leadership of the State Duma with Putin. “It is necessary to hold a meeting without delay and discuss all the problems,” the politician noted. The meeting should discuss the results of 2022, which has become "one of the most difficult and responsible", as well as exchange experiences, Zyuganov said.

Last time the head of state met with the heads of the Duma factions and the leadership of the State Duma on July 7, 2022. Then he thanked the parliamentarians for their prompt and competent work in the conditions that have developed after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, as well as for the support of the residents of Donbass.
