The IAEA announced the start of consultations on the creation of a security zone around the ZNPP

It is necessary to create nuclear and physical security zones around the Zaporozhye NPP as soon as possible, consultations on this have already begun, said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

“I remain extremely concerned about the state of affairs at the power plant, which remains at risk as long as shelling of any kind continues. To address this serious situation, consultations have begun on the urgent need to create a nuclear safety zone at the Zaporizhzhya NPP,” Grossi was quoted as saying. statement IAEA.

The IAEA mission arrived at the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP on September 1 due to regular shelling from Ukraine.
