The head of the Ministry of Digital Development supported the postponement for media workers and IT specialists

Thanks to the delay in mobilization for IT specialists, it is possible to increase the pace of development of Russian technologies. A delay for media workers is a guarantor of the prompt dissemination of significant information, Maksut Shadayev, head of the Ministry of Digital Development, told RIA Novosti. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense stated that Russians working in the banking sector, the IT sector, mobile operators and the media will not be mobilized.

“The decision of the Russian Ministry of Defense on not recruiting for military service as part of the partial mobilization of employees in the information technology, communications and mass communications industry is extremely relevant and timely. It will ensure the stable operation of the national infrastructure for providing citizens with telecommunications and digital services. Guarantee prompt delivery and distribution of socially significant content. It will also allow to maintain and increase the pace of development of domestic IT solutions, which in the foreseeable future should replace the foreign technologies used,”— said Mr Shadayev.

According to clarifications Ministry of Digital Affairs, if, for example, a journalist was summoned to the military registration and enlistment office on the agenda, then he should come with the following documents: with the original or a copy of the employment contract, diploma of higher education, confirmation that the media in which he works is backbone, a certificate from the place of work , a copy of an extract from the register of registered mass media.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Defense issued a list of specialists who will not be sent to the mobilization service. Among them are employees in the field of information and communications, IT, and the financial sector. The head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, explained that financial specialists include employees responsible for critical infrastructure, payments and settlements, collection, operation and protection of information systems, duty shift workers, specialists working with the population and enterprises.

According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, it is planned to mobilize 300,000 Russian citizens, including reservists with combined arms military specialties and combat experience.
