The press service of the Communist Party faction in the Moscow City Duma reported that Nikolai Zubrilin, the head of the faction, the first secretary of the capital’s city party committee, was stopped at the Okhotny Ryad metro station.
The report says that this happened when he was returning from a rally in support of the annexation of new regions to Russia.
“They asked what he was doing there. They kept him for forty minutes at the police station in the metro, now they are taking him to the Kitai-Gorod police station,” the press service of the Communist Party added.
They also said that no charges were brought against Zubrilin, but they did not explain the reasons for the detention either.
