Head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov commented in his Telegram channel, unauthorized protests that took place over the past day in Makhachkala. He stated that the protests were directed from abroad and aimed at “dividing our society”. The protesters opposed partial mobilization and, in their opinion, erroneous actions of the authorities within the framework of it. Protests took place not only in the capital of the republic, but also in other settlements.

“While the mobilized Dagestan guys with a fighting spirit are sent to training centers for training, the enemies are trying to split our society. Obviously, the actions in Makhachkala were prepared and controlled, including from abroad. We already encountered this in the 90s. Unfortunately, many have forgotten what this could lead to – not everyone remembers the explosions of residential buildings in Kaspiysk, Buynaksk, at railway stations and subways,” wrote Mr. Melikov.

Playing off the Dagestanis, the head of the republic is sure, the provocateurs are trying to aggravate the situation inside the country, work off the money received from foreign sponsors. “It is disgusting that in this dishonest game they use the emotions of people who are worried about their loved ones,” he added.

Mr. Melikov instructed the heads of municipalities to keep the situation under control, to check the lists of those mobilized by name. “We need not just numbers, we need guys who will increase the combat capability of our army, who are ready to defend their country,” he said, saying that he would visit mobilization points personally.

Last Sunday, September 25, a mass protest took place in the capital of Dagestan against Russia’s actions in Ukraine and mobilization. The police used force to disperse the protesters. According to OVD-Info (the project is included in the register of foreign agents), 100 people were detained in Makhachkala alone. Today, September 26, their cases were submitted for consideration to the Sovetsky District Court. The decisions of the court have not yet been announced.

Unauthorized actions of opponents of mobilization took place today in Makhachkala and Khasavyurt, the Telegram channel of the publication reported. “Draft”. Information about the number of detainees on them from the official authorities until this evening was not received.
