The governor of the Omsk region, Alexander Burkov, confirmed the existence of restrictions for men who are subject to conscription as part of partial mobilization to travel abroad. Recall that the Omsk region borders on Kazakhstan.
At the same time, he noted that the authorities of the region did not take any individual decisions on this matter. According to him, on the border with Kazakhstan “there is a procedure that for people who are subject to conscription according to the presidential decree, there is a restriction on crossing the state border.”
Burkov said that men who are trying to cross the border are asked if the summons has been received, and if not, then people return back to the territory of the Russian Federation to conduct a dialogue with the military registration and enlistment office.
“Under the law on mobilization, it is clearly stated that you have the right to leave your settlements only upon agreement with the military registration and enlistment office,” the governor explained, adding that at the same time, those liable for military service are not prohibited from leaving the country if there is permission from the military registration and enlistment office.
“If you want to leave the city where you are registered with the military, you must obtain a certificate from the military registration and enlistment office,” the head of the Omsk region repeated once again.
At the same time, today the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation issued a statement stating that under the conditions of partial mobilization, “restrictions on the movement of citizens are not provided.”
