The governor of the Leningrad region canceled the holidays to support the special operation

On behalf of the Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko, all entertainment events in the region, including New Year’s corporate parties, have been canceled, the press service of the regional government reports. The Governor ordered that the released funds be redistributed for current needs, including support for Leningraders participating in the SVO and their families.

Governor Drozdenko instructed the heads of relevant committees of the government of the Leningrad Region to cancel regional entertainment events and redistribute funds, the press service of the regional administration specified. Relevant recommendations on the cancellation of festive events were also sent to the heads of administrations of the municipal districts of the Leningrad Region.

“On the organization of New Year’s holidays, including the decoration of settlements, additional recommendations will be given, while children’s New Year’s holidays will not be canceled,” Kommersant was told in the press service of the government of the Leningrad region.

The freed up funds will be used for current needs, including support for Leningraders participating in the SVO and their families. Earlier, on October 5, Alexander Drozdenko approved expansion of measures to support families mobilized at the expense of the regional budget. Among them are the provision of extraordinary places for children mobilized in kindergartens, colleges, technical schools, a discount for attending a kindergarten in the amount of 75% of the cost, free meals for students in grades 5–11, preferential travel for family members by car along regular transportation routes in the Leningrad Region, Compensation of 50% of expenses for utility bills, etc.
