The events of the autumn draft into the army will in no way be connected with the conduct of a special military operation in Ukraine, Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, a spokesman for the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, said.

“All conscripts, regardless of their specialty, will be sent to units and do military service on the territory of the Russian Federation,” leads his words of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in his Telegram channel.

In total, it is planned to call up 120,000 people for military service in the fall. This is less than last fall, but it fully satisfies the needs of the state’s law enforcement agencies even against the backdrop of the SVO.

Tsimlyansky also stressed that the mobilization will not affect full-time students studying at universities.

Earlier today, he said that about 10,000 citizens independently arrived at the military registration and enlistment offices, without waiting for the agenda, on the first day of partial mobilization.

The number of conscripts is determined by the regular needs of the completed military units, and one of the main factors in mobilization is the military experience of the reservists, he added.

On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in the country. Russians called up for military service by mobilization will receive the status, payments and all social guarantees of military personnel serving under a contract, Putin promised.

Later, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu explained that those in the reserve are subject to conscription under partial mobilization, in total the measure will affect 300,000 people. At the same time, he stressed that there is no talk of mobilizing students or conscripts.
