The former factory of the Swedish IKEA, which left Russia, in the Novgorod region resumed work under the Extrovert brand. This happened after more than a year of inactivity. The plant has already resumed the production of furniture boards. The deal to purchase the asset was completed in March 2023.

Within six months, it is planned to begin the production of furniture components, and after – the furniture itself. Vadim Osipov, general director of the Invest Plus company, as well as co-owner of Slotex, spoke about this at the opening of the factory.

“We plan to keep all the products that the plant manufactured, these are laminated chipboard and furniture, we also plan to have another format – furniture components,” said Mr. Osipov (quoted from “RIA News”). According to him, now the factory employs more than 350 employees and it is planned to increase the staff. Formerly Vadim Osipov saidthat after reaching stable technical and economic parameters, additional investments in the amount of up to 3 billion rubles are expected.

Slotex manufactures furniture boards, countertops and facades for kitchen furniture, which were also supplied by IKEA, at its four sites in the Leningrad region. According to its own data, revenue in 2021 amounted to 5.8 billion rubles.

Ikea Industry Novgorod is the largest IKEA production, worked in Russia. The production capacity of the plant for the production of laminated chipboard is more than 500 thousand cubic meters. m of polished products, and cabinet furniture factories – more than 7 million units per year.
