Natives of the “Echo of Moscow” are going to launch a new project called “Echo”. It will unite the projects of the journalists of the liquidated radio station, including the Living Nail YouTube channel of the former editor-in-chief of Ekho Moskvy, Alexei Venediktov (included in the register of foreign agents). The project manager will be his former deputy Maxim Kurnikov.

It is planned that the materials of “Echo” will be available in the application and on the website, the Telegram channel and Twitter page have already been launched. “We are trying to combine all the Echo people into one audio stream so that those who are used to listening to Echo, those who are used to consuming it in that old way, can do it conveniently. We often see that some people know about the existence of one YouTube channel with former Echo members, but do not know about another YouTube channel with former Echo members,” Mr. Kournikov told Dozhd (the TV channel is included in the register of foreign agents).

Maksim Kurnikov noted that the YouTube channels of the radio station’s natives, which will be merged into the project, will remain editorially independent. The task of “Echo” is to combine them technologically.

In early March, Roskomnadzor blocked the Ekho Moskvy website at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The next day, the board of directors of the radio station voted for the liquidation of Ekho Moskvy. Radio station management failed challenge the decision in court.
