The intention of the UK to transfer depleted uranium shells to Ukraine is reckless and provocative. Such a statement did Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova on Sputnik radio.

“This is a matter of absolute recklessness, irresponsibility and impunity of the Anglo-Saxons <...>. This is another British provocation, which is aimed at bringing the situation around Ukraine to a new round of aggression, conflict and confrontation, giving it a qualitatively different dimension,” she said.

Zakharova drew attention to the fact that the statements from London were made against the background of Russian-Chinese negotiations, which were devoted to international stability, peacekeeping and the discussion of the Chinese peace initiative around the Ukrainian conflict. The diplomat noted that there is no longer any reason to doubt “who is behind the start of the conflict in Ukraine.”

Commenting on the words of the British politician, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov notedthat London has “lost its bearings” in how its actions undermine strategic stability around the world. Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasizedthat in the case of deliveries, Russia will have to respond “appropriately”.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu notedthat the world has come one step closer to the threat of a nuclear clash. And the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin admittedthat due to the actions of Great Britain “a war to the last Ukrainian can become a war to the last European.” Concern about the situation is also expressed at the UN.
