The team of the Moscow region became the best at the international Spartakiad of sports veterans

Competitions were held in the capital of Belarus. The team from the Moscow region received three gold, four silver and two bronze medals, which allowed it to lead the ranking in the team standings. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the region.

The program of the Games included chess, checkers, table tennis, billiards, darts and summer all-around. In checkers among women, the champion of the USSR and Russia, world champion, international grandmaster Tatyana Teterina won. In chess, grandmaster and multiple world champion Tatyana Bogumil from Reutov won the first place. In women’s table tennis, the champion of Europe and the world among veterans and the champion of the USSR Inna Tikhomirova from Dubna won.

All winners and prize-winners train daily and keep their physical form. In addition, they are raising a new generation of champions.

The Spartakiad among sports veterans has already been held for the 10th time. Athletes from Moscow, the Moscow region, all regions of Belarus and Lithuania took part in it. Many of its participants were part of the USSR national team and fought for world titles. According to the rules of the competition, only athletes can participate in them. Women must be over 55 and men over 60.
