The final competitions for the Governor’s Cup in combat sambo were held in Krasnodar.
28 athletes in seven weight categories competed for victory in the final competitions, the press service of the administration of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
First, preliminary and semi-final meetings took place in all weight categories, after which they held final fights.
“I want to thank you for the fact that the tournament with the participation of the strongest athletes is taking place exactly on the Kuban soil. The region is the leader in the country in the implementation of the All-Russian SAMBO to School project. This is an opportunity for children to come to school and practice in SAMBO sections, which are becoming more and more,” said Sergey Eliseev, President of the All-Russian Sambo Federation.
The tournament was also attended by the head of the region Veniamin Kondaratiev, his deputy Alexander Vlasov, as well as the Minister of Sports of the Krasnodar Territory Serafim Timchenko.
Representatives of the Krasnodar Territory won 16 medals of various denominations in various weight categories.
