The ceremony of announcing the winners of the city competition of professional skills “Teachers of the Year of Moscow” in the nomination “I give my heart to children” was held in the capital. Alexei Yakovlev, a teacher of additional education at the Moscow Children’s and Youth Center for Ecology, Local History and Tourism, became the winner of the competition.

For three days, the finalists of the competition, and 21 teachers of additional education from schools and art houses took part in it, talked about their pedagogical projects, demonstrated communication skills and such personal qualities as the ability to hear the interlocutor, attract and hold the attention of the audience. Teachers at their master classes and presentations touched upon such topics as strengthening family values, holding weekend classes for children with parents, teaching and raising children in new regions of the country, and environmental education.

As Aleksey Yakovlev, the winner of the competition, said, he has been conducting ecological expeditions with children for 22 years and is preparing design and research work in different places of the country, from the Tushinsky Natural Park to the Kulikovo Field Museum-Reserve. The project that the teacher submitted to the competition was dedicated to the development of a learning and play space for the environmental education of children with special educational needs.

“It was necessary to formulate a list of environmental skills that could be available for mastering by this category of children,” said Alexei Yakovlev. — It was important for me not just to present the project, but to spread the idea among other pedagogical teams, because I would like to make basic environmental education accessible to absolutely all children.

According to Alexander Tverskoy, Deputy Head of the Department and Science of the City of Moscow, boys and girls come to the palaces of creativity, circles and sections in schools, whose eyes light up and their hearts stop at what they are doing.

– And teachers of additional education should be like that – with burning eyes and hearts, otherwise how will they lead the guys if they are not passionate about their work and are not ready to infect others with their ideas, – said Alexander Tverskoy. – You, teachers of additional education, are doing a very important thing – you motivate children who then come to school with a desire to learn, with the mindset “I can and I want to.”

The winners of the competition “Teachers of the Year of Moscow” in the nomination “I give my heart to children” were teachers of the additional Moscow Palace of Pioneers of the Vorobyovy Gory educational complex, the Palace of Creativity for Children and Youth “Undiscovered Islands”, a teacher from school No. 1210 Timofey Kharkevich and a teacher from school No. 109 Rinat Shaidullin .

In May, at the general awards ceremony for the winners of the “Moscow Teachers of the Year” contest, all winners of the “I give my heart to children” nomination will receive gifts from partners, and the winner will be awarded a challenge cup.
