Senator Andrei Klishas said that the Federation Council would not hold extraordinary meetings to adopt laws on the entry of new subjects into the Russian Federation. According to him, the next meeting of the Chamber according to the schedule is October 4.

Earlier, state media sources said that on September 28, the State Duma, and on September 29, the Federation Council could consider relevant laws based on the results of referendums in Donbass and neighboring regions. It was also stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin will address the Federal Assembly on September 30 with a message.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the day before that he could not confirm reports of plans for the 30th. At the same time, on Tuesday, September 27, Peskov said that after the referendums, the security situation in these territories “will change dramatically.”
