Council of the Federation approved law on credit holidays for participants in the military operation in Ukraine. Mobilized citizens will be able to apply for credit holidays on consumer and mortgage loans for the duration of their service. Credit holidays are provided for those mobilized within the framework of partial mobilization, contractors and volunteers.
The deferred payment applies to family members of military personnel. An application can be submitted to the lender at any time during the term of the loan agreement and no later than December 31, 2023. In the event of death or disability of the first group, the obligations under the loan are terminated for the serviceman and his family.
The term of the loan holiday is determined by the borrower, but it should not exceed the term of military service of the mobilized (or the term of participation in the military operation for the troops of the National Guard) plus 30 days. The deadline for the start of the grace period is September 21.
Partial mobilization was announced in Russia on 21 September. Two days later, a bill on credit holidays was submitted to the State Duma. MPs approved him September 28th. Initially, they wanted to extend the bill only to conscripts and contract soldiers, but later they decided to include it here as well. volunteers. The authors of the document were senators Andrei Turchak, Nikolai Zhuravlev, Andrei Klishas, Irina Rukavishnikova and deputies of the State Duma.
