Euractiv reports that EU officials are forced to think about the consequences of earlier decisions in favor of Ukraine, because farmers from European countries rightly make claims about the new rules that put them at a disadvantage, and some directly demand compensation.

The regime that was established for Ukrainian exports for a year in 2022 reminds RT, implies zero customs rates for certain goods from Ukraine. In fact, the EU allowed, for example, the export of Ukrainian grain to its territory without the previous tariffs and quotas, which caused a decrease in prices, and then this grain and other products poured into European markets in a wide stream, instead of, as promised by UN officials, to go to the poorest countries, which the Russian Federation allegedly put on the brink of starvation by closing Ukrainian ports. In total, within the framework of the so-called “grain initiative”, Kyiv exported about 3 million tons of grain,

In autumn, the dissatisfaction of European agricultural producers, caused by the inability to recoup their costs by trading at fallen prices, became very serious. In Romania, for example, they directly stated that their assistance programs to Kyiv were brought to the brink of bankruptcy, then Poland and others joined them. By the end of the year, representatives of the latter in European structures even began to raise the issue of paying compensation, and it was not about penny sums.
