The Duma of Vladivostok is again headed by United Russia


Andrey Brik, a United Russia nominee, who previously headed the city's representative body of the 2017 convocation, was elected chairman of the Vladivostok City Duma.

29 deputies voted for the election of Mr. Brik as speaker at the first meeting of the new convocation of the City Duma on September 29. His only competitor was the communist Sergei Belov, he received two votes in his support (31 out of 35 deputies took part in the vote).

Members of the United Russia faction, Dmitry Novikov, Kirill Grigoriev and Alexei Tkachev, were also elected vice-speakers.

Four of the five committees of the City Duma were headed by representatives of United Russia, only the committee on economic policy was given to the deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party Vasily Vasiliev.

As a result of the September 11 elections, United Russia received 23 seats in the Vladivostok Duma, the Communist Party - two, and the Liberal Democratic Party - two. Eight self-nominees were also elected, but five of them have already entered the United Russia faction.

In the elections to the Duma of the capital of Primorye in 2017, United Russia received 22 mandates, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation - nine, the Liberal Democratic Party - two, A Just Russia and the Russian Party of Pensioners for Social Justice - one each.
