The destruction of the Nord Streams: causes and consequences

On Tuesday, October 4, at 15.00, the MK press center will host an exclusive live broadcast on Vkontakte dedicated to the situation around the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

The energy confrontation between Europe and Russia, which has been going on for more than six months since the introduction of Western sanctions, has reached a new level. This happened after both branches of the Nord Stream gas pipeline were simultaneously damaged at the end of September. The export of Russian gas to Europe, which had already fallen sharply in volumes, turned out to be practically at zero. For EU countries, this situation threatens a full-fledged energy crisis on the eve of the coming winter cold. Russia, on the other hand, could face a significant drop in its export revenues, which traditionally make up a large part of the federal budget. Can the destruction of the Nord Streams be considered sabotage and who benefited from it? Can damaged gas pipelines be repaired and how soon can they be returned to working condition? How will the suspension of fuel supplies from Russia affect the price of European gas?

These and other questions will be discussed during a live broadcast at the MK press center by experts: Deputy Director of the National Energy Security Fund Aleksey Grivach, Doctor of Science, member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Energy Vladimir Tetelmin, military expert, captain of the first rank of the reserve Vasily Dandykin.
