The deputies proposed to introduce administrative responsibility for the demonstration of maps without Crimea and the Kuriles

Distribution and public demonstration of maps and images that "dispute the territorial integrity of Russia" will be the reason for the arrest of citizens for up to 15 days or the imposition of a fine. Such innovations are fixed by two new bills submitted for consideration to the State Duma. One of the authors of the project, deputy Vasily Piskarev, explained that liability could also arise in the event of distribution of maps of Russia without Crimea or the Kuril Islands as part of the Russian Federation.

“Recently, we see that maps and other images are being actively distributed, where the territorial affiliation of Crimea, the Kuril Islands, and other territories of our country is disputed. It is especially dangerous when such materials are designed for a children's audience - as was the case with children's photo wallpapers sold in one of the popular retail chains, where Crimea was designated as part of Ukraine, ”the parliamentarian explained. In his opinion, the sale of children's photo wallpapers with maps, where Crimea is part of Ukraine, is part of a hybrid war against Russia.

Mr. Piskarev probably mentioned the incident with the sale of wallpaper in the store of the French chain Leroy Merlin. Then the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin instructed to check the outlet, considering the absence of Crimea as part of Russia on children's photo wallpapers, and partially recognized South Ossetia, Abkhazia, LPR and DPR as independent states, as an example of promoting the agenda of a NATO country through a furniture store.
