The creators of "Smeshariki" warned about the imminent expiration of licenses for animation programs

Licenses for Western animation programs will expire this summer, and the Russian animation industry may find it difficult to continue operating. So says Yulia Nemchina, managing director of the Riki group of companies (creates Smesharikov, Fixikov, Malysharikov and other projects).

“Let's face it, there isn't a single company in our industry that doesn't sit on international programs. While we continue to work on the old licenses, they will be valid until the summer. Further, we can only hope that joint work with the relevant Ministry of Digital Development will help find new solutions,” Ms. Nemchina said in an interview. RBC.

She also noted that the fleet of equipment that Ricky now has will last for a maximum of three years. The managing director of the group complained about the complication of the process of exercising rights to content abroad, about the reduction in international transactions by up to 25-30% and the suspension of negotiations with a number of foreign partners.

Last summer, the film studio "Lenfilm" released a report stating that the company was unable to switch to Russian film equipment because it was not on the market. On November 25, Maksut Shadayev, head of the Ministry of Digital Development, stated that Russia reached "digital sovereignty".

About the work of "Rika" in the new conditions - in interview Yulia Nemchina "Kommersant".
