The coronavirus pandemic has caused temperatures on the Moon to drop
Scientists at the Physics Research Laboratory in Ahmedabad, India, have found that nighttime temperatures on the lunar surface have dropped significantly during the coronavirus lockdown. This is reported by Daily Mail.
According to the researchers, this phenomenon may be associated with a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions during quarantine, as human activity during this period decreased significantly, which led to a decrease in the heat generated by the atmosphere.
During the study, scientists analyzed temperature data on the Moon from 2017 to 2023 and identified an anomalous decrease in temperature in the interval from April to May 2020.
