The Bank of Russia extended for six months restrictions on the withdrawal of money abroad. The restrictions will be in effect from October 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023. This is stated in message on the website of the Central Bank.

Russians and citizens of friendly countries will be able to transfer up to $1 million to any accounts in foreign banks within a month, through money transfer systems – no more than $10,000 or the equivalent in another foreign currency.

Individuals – non-residents working in Russia are allowed to transfer money abroad in the amount of wages. “Representatives of both friendly and unfriendly countries have such an opportunity,” the Central Bank said in a statement.

“For individuals – non-residents from unfriendly countries that do not work in Russia, as well as legal entities from such states, the ban on transferring funds abroad remains,” the Bank of Russia said.
