The government of Ukraine conditionally divided all regions of the country into four types – front-line, rear, support and liberated, said the Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories of the country Oleksiy Chernyshov.

“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine conditionally divided all regions of Ukraine into four types: front-line, support, de-occupied and rear, according to the proximity of the front and the main tasks during the war,” said Chernyshev (quote according to RIA Novosti).

After division, the country map looks like this:

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. In March, the Russian leader said that the decision to conduct a NMD was linked to an “absolutely real threat” to Russia arising from Ukraine’s desire to join NATO and statements by the Ukrainian authorities about the possibility of acquiring nuclear weapons.

Today, September 23, in the DPR, LPR, Kherson region and in the Russian-controlled part of Zaporozhye, referendums began on the issue of joining the regions to the Russian Federation. Voting will last until September 27th.
