The authorities recalled the obligation of banks to write off loans mobilized in case of death

If the borrower, called up for military service as part of partial mobilization, died or received a disability of the first group, then his loan will be written off by the bank, and not from the budget. The federal budget, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Finance, does not provide money for such expenses.

“If the borrower died or received a disability of the first group, then the loan will be canceled, including for members of his family. The Ministry of Finance explained that this will happen at the expense of banks,” the government portal said in a statement. "Explaining.rf".

On September 27, Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev, speaking in the State Duma, said: "As for the budget line, it is not supposed to be written off, it is supposed that this will be done at the expense of banks." State Duma deputy Valery Skrug asked whether this would lead to the fact that banks will reduce the issuance of loans.

“As for the issuance of loans, yes, this question arises - the risks for banks are increasing, they will obviously look at this risk carefully. This also needs to be understood,” said Anatoly Aksakov, head of the financial market committee.

September 28 State Duma accepted law on credit holidays for mobilized citizens and members of their families. Initially, the law applied only to citizens who were called up as part of the mobilization, but then its effect distributed and for volunteers who also enter into a contract for service, but in a different form.
