The head of the government of the Donetsk People's Republic, Vitaly Khotsenko, said that the restoration of the Azov Shipyard in Mariupol in 2023 will require about 500 million rubles. The plant was damaged as a result of hostilities.

“Today we are working with the largest investors in the Russian Federation who are engaged in shipbuilding, we are determining sources of funding, we cannot do without budgetary support. About 500 million rubles. it is necessary this year to start putting things in order there, ”said Vitaly Khotsenko in an interview TASS.

The head of the DPR government also spoke about plans to create an industrial park on the territory of the Azovstal metallurgical plant in Mariupol. The construction of the park, which includes the restoration of energy, gas and water supply, will take at least ten years, Mr. Khotsenko said.

According to him, it is planned to restore the work of shops, as well as attract residents and industrial enterprises that will establish their business on this territory. To date, the plant continues demining.

Azovstal came under the control of Russian forces in May 2022. Initially, the DNR authorities reported that the plant, which was destroyed as a result of hostilities, would not be restored. However, later, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin said that the plant should not be stopped, since 12 thousand people worked at it. Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov in January promised to restore the enterprises of Mariupol. Minstroy informedthat it is planned to restore the city in three years.
