Forest fires began in the Ryazan region in August. Their area continues to increase over the past few days. The Ministry of Natural Resources explained this as a “counter burn”. August 28 was announcedthat the spread of forest fires was stopped, but a day later the area covered by the fire increased again. Acting Governor of the Region Pavel Malkov arguedthat this happens “due to planned annealing”.
