The largest provider of IT services in the field of aviation will leave the Russian market on July 1. About it informed TASS, citing a source in one of the airlines.

“SITA leaves the territory of the Russian Federation from 07/01/2023. All companies have now received a notification,” the source said. He stressed that domestic airlines and airports have already managed to replace all the services provided by SITA.

The agency noted that in 2022, after the imposition of sanctions against the aviation industry against the backdrop of the start of a military operation in Ukraine, Russian companies were able to replace a number of foreign systems with domestic ones. In particular, the Leonardo system developed by Rostec and Sirena appeared, as well as TAIS, which was created by the ORS IT solutions company.

SITA started working in Russia back in 1959, when SITA became its partner Aeroflot. In 2019, the airline and the IT provider celebrated the 60th anniversary of their joint cooperation. It was engaged in the supply of air ticket booking systems, electronic boarding, baggage systems, etc. to carriers.
